PDA advice needed

Hi
I am looking for a PDA device that will sync up with Outlook 2007 (and possibly 2010), without any hassle! Not a smartphone, just a handheld that can carry my outlook data and sync up. Budget is a factor, so would probably look for a s/h refurbished model.
I have a Palm Tungsten E which despite many and several attempts will not sync with Outlook 2007. So something like it which works with MS and isn't a phone, doesn't have to be a new model.
Here's hoping someone can help
Thanks

Problem is that smartphones have almost killed demand for PDAs.
If you can't get your Tungsten to work with Outlook that rules out everything else by Palm.
Would be worth taking a look at prices of old Asus Mypal and HP Ipaq Pocket PC's. They should both be Windows Mobile based, so - in theory at least - it should be easy to sync them with Outlook 2007.0 -

Just a thought... With HP ditching webOS, the Pre 3 was going for a ridiculously low price (£50 I think) though I don't know if, like the TouchPad, the Pre is pretty much sold out everywhere - if you can't find one in a shop it might be worth having a look on ebay. I know it's a phone rather than a pure PDA but if you don't put a sim in, you will still have access to the calendar, contacts etc, and it should sync fine with the latest Outlook too.Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0

I know and that is the problem! It would be good to hear from someone who still has the "old fashion" style PDA, which works with an upto date Outlook version. It's hard to find (relevant) data on older/obselete units.
Out of curiosity I just plugged in a device that runs Win Mobile 6.0
you should be able to run a few PDAs running it on ebay (or 5 or 6.5)
Outlook sync is fine (outlook 2010) although FYI its source is an exchange server, im not sure about imap, pop or a connecter type accounts.
The problem is finding a device, its a phone but the HTC HD2 (Win Mob 6.5) is a very nice device.0 -
To be honest the best were dell axim series and even they crashed.
they had very low processor power and ridiculously low memory power and messed up just when you needed them the most.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I know your not looking for a smart phone, ala iPhone. But what about a iPod Touch. Quite expensive, but will give you wi-fi so you can sync your emails on the go (wifi needed) and you can sync to outlook I believe. I sync my calendar to mine using outlook.
Its an option in the post PDA world.Tech Savvy Student trying to help and learn

Don't recommend things on the basis of syncing to outlook - the Tungsten will happily sync to outlook 2003 AFAIR. So all these old devices people are coming out with might be in the same boat.
OP - have a look at the Palm website to see if there's more up to date software you can use to sync. Failing that, the Palm TX, which was the best of the Tunsgtens, with WiFi, is your best bet if you want to stick with Palm. Windows mobile 6.5 devices, or an old iPod Touch are the only alternatives I can think if, but you need to look for that Outlook version compatibility specifically before spending...0
