Maybe a good idea to look at switching as well. Will have to dig out the old bills to find usage to do a comparison of tariffs.

Lots of good ideas rolling in and if each one chips a couple of pound off a month I would be quite happy!

Oh, and with regards to putting on a jumper before the heating - I always get my thick, fluffy dressing gown and thick, furry boot slippers and put those on before I think about turning up the heating! I am good :D

Its only at 23c in the coldest part of winter.
No wonder your bills are high. During the period with the lowest outside temp, you have the highest indoor temp; 20C is normal. Each degree is estimated to use an extra 4%.
Chances are that your heating management is completely inefficient too, i.e. wrong boiler temp and trv settings, which can waste another 20%.
  • 23c is a 2c reduction from our first year here so in theory 8% saved already. I am going to aim for a max of 22c but I do feel the cold really easily (obviously not helpful to reducing energy usage!).
Our boiler is only 2 years old, would it still be inefficient? And how would I know what boiler temp to put it on? And what is a trv setting? Sorry to be so boiler-illiterate lol
