Eon Rep around! Conflicting advice.

Options
Just tried to do as Malc suggested some while ago.

My Saveonline tariff ends today and Malc said to ring to change the tariff. I've rung this morning and was told that online tariff's cannot be done over the telephone and must be done online.

When did this new rule come into effect? I've been with eon for years and I've always done my tariff changes over the phone.

I asked when the switch would take effect and he said it would be today - can this please be confirmed.

Many thanks

    Hi foreversummer

We've recently beefed up our sales compliance rules so as to make sure customers are given the fullest possible description of the agreement they're entering into.

To re-inforce this, only agents in certain areas who have received the necessary training and have the required access can now switch customers to an online tariff.

We do encourage customers registered with the website to switch tariffs themselves as part of the online management process. Switches done this way take effect immediately.

Hope this explains the changes foreversummer. Give me a shout if you need any more details as happy to help.

  • Thank you for the clarification Malc.

I have done it online and submitted meter readings as part of the process.

I've just done exactly the same today and had my direct debit go up from £94 to £122, a mere 30% increase. I'm now wondering if I'm also going to get stung for even more when prices go up on 13 September. I was in credit at the switchover, so it's not that I'm paying extra to make up for last years energy.
