I'll leave it to others to comment on yr Highjackthis log, although I couldn't see anything specific.

When systems are slow to start, I always look at the event log (control panel, admin tools) and checkout errors you see there
  • robmarose thanks

Not sure what i'm looking for there though

That's not the full HJT log.

I would disable all those startups listed in the O4 lines and restart. If anything doesn't work right, then just re-enable them.

I'd also find an alternative to iTunes, or get some more RAM for the computer.

Where is Avast? Could you run security check and paste the result:

Here's an easy tool to look at recent errors in the event log:
    http://artellos.com/sino-page

Alternatively just wait until an Indian scammer phones, and they'll walk you through the process of using eventvwr.

The event log has a number of categories the main ones to look at are "application" and "system"; if you click on these you will see listed by date/time actions the system has undertaken. Generally three categories, "information" which you can safely ignore, "warning" with a yellow !triangle!, and "error" with a red cross. If you look at the latter together with time/date, you can see whether there are errors during the start-up process. These are the ones that need further research.

Just one other thing in the event log, under security, this should be clean, but you may see audit errors, which if occuring during start-up will cause delays - myself and experts from beeping computer were not able to resolve this latter issue without a system rebuild.

    Good luck
