Got the price change e-mail from BT today...... in my SPAM folder. Wonder if BT designed the mailing to look like spam....0

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I just confirmed with BT on the phone, and indeed my prices are increasing. They no longer do the triple package I am on, which is why they didnt know first time I rung this morning. I now am in the process of cancelling. Thanks again.
You are very welcome  Just make sure you insist they put a note on the account that you are cancelling because of the price rise, otherwise the other CSAs will have no record of it.
Anyone else being fobbed off with "your package isn't changing, so you can't cancel", check https://www.pricechange.bt.com/loginCider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0 -
Our contract with BT is actually coming to an end, but I've no idea who to swap to from BT. It seems once you add on the price of caller ID and 0845 numbers etc they all work out the same.
Or am I missing something?Sigless0 -
hi, i was hoping of getting out my bt broadband option 1 and anytime calls but when i checked the pricechange.bt.com/login page it says
Your monthly broadband or package charges from 3rd December are below
Broadband and Calls £16.00 £16.00 Discount £16.00 £16.00 Monthly Total £0.00 £0.00
my broadband option 1 and anytime calls package started on the 30th august 11. i believe it came with 3 or 4 months free broadband for 18 months,
i received no email or info with my bill to state that i was going to be charged these price hikes on the 3rd of dec,but i believe these charges will effect everyone including me,as i am getting these 3 or 4 months discount on my broadband is this effecting why i dont see the price increase.
would really like to cancel all my dealings with bt after a few problems and was hoping too with these 3rd dec 11 charges.
thanking all

Hi tee,
Hard to tell based on the info you provided. Do you have the paperwork from when you signed up? Depending on whether its 3 or 4 months, you may still be within the 'free' period come 3rd Dec, which may have confused the bt tool you quoted from.
What exact package (is this including line rental?)
How many free months were there, and was everything free of just the broadband and calls package?
Did you sign up to Line Rental Saver?
You might also be able to glean most of the answers (including discounts) from your most recent bill.Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0 -

going by the bill from bt the last 3 months this has been £0.00 on the bill.
going by bt everything started on the 30 august 11 with broadband and calling plan free for 3 months.

Your package isn't listed in http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumer/consumerProducts/pdf/myBT/BT_Broadband_Update_CF.pdf as being one of those increasing in price. But then ours wasn't listed either, until we logged into the https://www.pricechange.bt.com/login site. I'd suggest trying again today or in the next few days now that your 3 free months have finished.
You can cancel the BT line without any 'hold-to-term' / cancellation charges, but unless your broadband+calls bundle is increasing from the price you were told when you signed up in August then you can be held to term on the calls package+broadband bundle. However, in order to use the broadband you'd need to pay someone for the line rental, even if its not BT.Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0 -
I've just renewed with BT, got my Total broadband option 1 down to £16 a month from £20 and paid the line rental in advance which has made it £10 a month down from the £14.60 it i going to be on Saturday. The £16 also includes anytime calls including 0845 and 0870 numbers. As i'm at home during the day and make quite a lot of calls it works out as good as the rivals. I think what actually swayed me to stay in the end was the customer service when our broadband played up. Bloke knew exactly how to fix it and I got through to them straight away. I won't sing their praises from the rooftops as I know a lot of people have problems but compared with Talk Talk who charged my daughter £60 for a non existent engineer when her broadband wouldn't work propely, BT are heaven.
Thanks for this thread everybody, i've been putting this off for ages and it's given me a nudge.0 -
I rang up to cancel my package but was told that I couldnt as I was on the broadband option 2, bronze bundle (BT Vision) with anytime calls.
From what I can see the line rental is increasing as is the broadband. So would I be able to cancel on this basis as without the line and without broadband I wouldn't be able to use BT vision (not subject to an increase) anyway ?
Thanks for any help.

Miranda, check this site to see whether your package (not individual products) are increasing in price:
https://www.pricechange.bt.com/login
If your pay for a package of broadband, calls and bt vision, and that price is increasing, then you can cancel without charges even within the minimum contract period. Quote paragraph 52 of their T&Cs. If the price isn't changing there's nowt you can do, other than move your line rental to someone else. However I'm not sure whether BT Vision works with if your line rental isn't with BT.Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0
