  • I've just done some work for a same sort of Business that was on the 'natural' route, maybe you could specify in the name a USP of the business, maybe something that stands out.
  • Are you targeting online and offline activities or purely online?

The online world works very differently to offline but also opens up a lot more possibilities.... whilst having a location based name can be limiting offline (though Severnoaks Sound & Vision have never been hampered by it) online it is very easy to have multiple trading names each one targeting a different market segment. You then need a comprehensive strategy on how you're going to promote them all and both get high rankings and avoid competing against yourself.

Skin care isnt my thing but with many online businesses trust and pricing come before brand.... most will search for "cheap car insurance" or "panasonic TV" rather than the name of the retailer.
  • Hi I must admit I like Tartan Dream. My suggestion is Scottish Mist sorry its not very exciting! Good luck please come back and let us know what you decide x

Im not into tartan dreams, this sounds more like a fabric store or even a guest house or holiday cottage.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • I really think that as a small business you need to have at least one word in the brand name that conveys what product you sell. There is a temptation to go 'generic' so that you can expand into other areas if you want to - but you are then giving yourself a massive uphill struggle educating potential customers about what you sell. If you have loads of money behind you this is fine because you can spend on advertising/educating - but most businesses do not start with this kind of financial backing. Also, as InsideInsurance says if you are hoping to sell online a lot of people search by product/service type - having a strong keyword in your domain name relevant to the product you are selling can really help

You could always think 'out-of-the-box'. When job-hunting, I came across a site called 'Joodis'. Transpires that the owner came-up with the name after they heard someone say 'did you do this' very quickly, and thought they had actually said 'joodis' and bingo!, one quick search and they were away.

You might even consider a '.it' domain or a '.me' one. This opens up opportunities such as pamper.me or naturally.it.

Also, consider your logo. It needs to scale from a web graphic all the way up to a billboard without looking naff.
