Car insurance...

Right, time of the year already to sort out my insurance, it runs out at the end of September, so got a while to go before I need to buy it. My aim is to get it under £500.

I've tried confused.com, gocompare and what not. All are coming up around £900. I paid £660 last year, I'll be 22, have 4 years NCB (touch wood!).

My best quote so far is with Admiral, £569. I'm a member on a car forum, and they have special offers on...go with us and we'll beat your best quote...yet they are no were near!

Does anyone know of smaller companies that are worth a look at? Ones that might not appear on confused etc. Its only a 1.8 TDDi Focus, so nothing special, worth around £1,200.

Any help would be great!

Have you tried the ones not included in comparison sites Direct Line, Aviva, Churchill? Check all comparison sites and dont forget cashback sites too like Quidco and Top Cashback. Unfortunately the rates have increased at an unprecedented rate in the last 24 months

Thats not bad. My hubby has a 1.8 petrol Focus, worth about same if not less, and his is about the same price. He is 28 with 10 years driving experience and 6 years no claims, married and holds a HGV & PCV license.
