Hi there

I received a letter on the 7th June asking for my FOS questionnaire to investigate further.

I have then received a letter on the 14th June stating that in recognition of the delay and my patience they will be offering as a gesture of goodwill no later than the 31st August 2011 provided I have held my PPI policy for more than 30 days (which I have) - the payment protection insurance premiums plus interest charged on the premiums along with 8% per annum simple interest.

To be the above says my complaint is being upheld and I will receive a refund??

So why did I receive another letter on the 8th July stating that they hadnt received a reply regarding additional information on the 8th July? I obviously ignored this as I assumed there must have been some crossover and they wouldnt have sent over the letter on the 14th regarding the offer if it wasnt being upheld?

I have then received my latest letter on the 20th August again saying that they are waiting for addiitonal information (ie the FOS questionnaire)??

I am confused what do you suggest I do??

Give them a call to check.

My opinion of their paperwork handling and administration system is poor, they've sent me letters in the past denying receipt of documents sent by recorded delivery - until I challenged it and told them the time and date of delivery, plus the name of the person who signed for it.

I think what happens is people don't look at the file in detail, just quickly look at the last thing requested - and if they can't see it straight away send a standard letter.

I have emailed the CEO and had a reply within 30 minutes. They are looking into this now and will get back to me asap. I will update when I have more news - fingers crossed :-)

Have just had a phone call from a very nice lady - saying they are sending out an offer with acceptance form and breakdown of around £500!! :-)

whats the protocol now do I just accept or hold out for more??

Its £500 I never had but just want to make sure Im not being shortchanged

Wait until the offer arrives and see how they've arrived at that figure. If you don't agree, go back and question it.

If you need help, post the figures here - there are some very clever number people on this forum (not me, alas)
