Talktalk Connection Fee

I am desperately trying to get a connection fee refunded on behalf of my mum.

She took up one of their offers back in April that also offered free connection charge but lo and behold they charged her it anyway. Mum rang up and they assured her it would be refunded on her 2nd or 3rd bill, though as yet we haven't seen it (could be an oversight on our part as their billing is so complicated) Anyway we've waited and waited and now 4/5 months down the line we emailed to ask them to sort it out and refund the money. Usual response ring their 0870 number, which i believe is free with the package she has but what's the point, she rang that number before and got nowhere. I also can't see the point of having an email contact form if every time you have to ring them anyway??

Is there anyway we can get this sorted once and for all? It's not exactly rocket science to refund £29.99 is it?

Talk Talk issues are never resolved on this forum.

If the TT Customer Representative sees your post, they will tell your Mum that she should join the TT forum and raise the issue there.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Thanks. We tried their forum first but apparently they're having some issues with the site and some peoples accounts aren't being recognised, guess what mum is one of them

Just thought i could get the email of someone higher up rather than an automated response.

They haven't ever been good with customer service, we've had problems before a few years ago but mum was fed up with her bill being over £30 for BT for their bottom package so Talktalk seemed the only option. To be honest BT were rubbish too, mum and I were endlessly trying to solve problems with them and even when they promised things would be done they never were.....

Unfortunately this is the price you seem to pay when you're reliant on BT rehashed services. I'm in the same boat as mum where I live, your choice is rather limited...

This thread was started nearly two weeks ago so it's a bit late for a response now thanks....;) The guy on twitter solved it very quickly which is what should have happened in the first place.

    Hi NEH,

My apologies for the delayed reply. However, the On-line Community Department manage the Members Forum, Twitter, Facebook and various other external sites and forums for support. Due to resources our presence on third party sites may not be as prevalent as on our won Members site or Twitter feed.

For the benefit of others registration issues on the forum can be raised and resolved within 72 hours by using the Forum Contact Us form on the Members Forum site.

However as this thread contained a support request it was prudent to reply, rather than just ignore the issue which may have remained unresolved.

    Regards
