Discovered my husband of 24 years has a girlfriend abroad. Have kicked him out.
He has run up huge debts, trying to find everything out.
Left me with 3 kids and £60 in the bank.
He has gone on a 2 week holiday now to visit her, so need eerything sorted by when he gets back in the country.
Sorry for the very brief and horrible intro.
My question is, I need a bank account asap, know credit rating is going to be bad. Need an account to pay money into, dd's to come out of with a switch cash/card.
Can you give me any suggestions as to which might a, take me on and b, meet my needs.
Thanks in advance for your help.

No real problem. Choose one here, preferably a different bank to any joint account.

Most banks will offer a basic bank account offering ATM access, debit card, standing orders and direct debits etc and no overdraft.
I'd suggest one with a convenient branch and ATM would be the starting point. Note Lloyds TSB and RBS (soon) restrict you to using their own cash machines.
If there are joint debts or debts in your name, avoid using the same bank or a bank from within the same banking group.0 -
