Insulating solid walls

Hi,

There are alot of companies offering subsidised cavity wall insulation, but our house has solid walls and no cavity.

I think we'll have to board the walls with insulated plasterboard. Does anybody know if there are any government subsidies to help with this?

It surprises me there are so many cavity wall incentives yet solid walls are even less efficient and nobody seems to offer help in improving them :think:

Any help appreciated.

British Gas does but its a product called sematap and still costs you a fair bit. There are two ways to insulate solid walls internal usually mean needing decorating or external with means insulate and apply a render both have good/bad points

Afraid no cheap way to do either and not much of a subside they rather doe cavity walls/light bulbs or now solar

It's purely down to cost and disruption.

I have a no-fines house and the local housing association has externally insulated their stock.

When I looked into it, the biggest stumbling block seemed to be getting an installer for a single dwelling. Mass installs seems to be the norm.
