Quite a lot there but I can't find most of the things tourists need! Perhaps we should have a sticky!!!!
For example the driver must have a "CE" marked hi vis waistcoat within reach at all times, The white place names are 50k speed limits and the black ones are 70k limits, a flashing amber light means proceed but be prepared to give way, often to pedestrians whose green man is also on, you must have identification, car registration and insurance documents with you. There are many more often ignored rules that the Gendarmes will happily fine you for.
Plus a new one has reared its head, if your vehicle and trailer are over 3.5t you may need a tachograph. This applies to a Range Rover or similar towing a digger to a job. I think the max fine is 8000€!!!0 -
It might be there but also no Mobiles when driving even if handsfree (unless you're French when you must drive with a mobile in your hand at all times!)0
