    Anubis, you will probably have your money back by now (the DD guarantee states "full and immediate refund". However, the question then is, have you cancelled the direct debit with the company that originated it too? If you haven't they will probably try again, simply cancelling it at your bank is not enough. Presumably the company thinks that you still owed them money, we don't know whether you do or not but you must sort this out with them if you don't want the same thing to happen again.

    When you cancel a direct debit you need to cancel it with both parties.
