Needed to call Ticketmaster, an 0845 number is on the website so I used saynoto0870 for a 0161 number, called it on my mobile. Got an automated number telling me thanks for registering to enter the website bla bla and that I would receive a text. Damn, I put one wrong digit with my sausage fingers! Had typed in 01613051420 for Gallic Flair http://gallicflair.co.uk/flexible-membership/ and charged £3 for doing so.
Probably, noone will be as stupid as me, but I never thought I would be charged a premium by ringing a 'local' number so please type carefully:(

This does not make sense.
What number were you supposed to type and what number did you type? There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
Did you use a landline or a mobile? If you've dialled a standard dialling code (hence expecting to be charged at 'local' or national rate) and haven't, then speak to your service provider. AFAIK a number starting 0161 (Manchester) can't be charged at premium rates."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Answer is in the OP;)
Agree about charging, dialed a geographical number, (0161 Manchester), should only be charged for that, or not if inclusive minutes.
.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
Ooh yeah! It was indeed a mobile - must read OP in future...
Perhaps it was the text that J20BABY was charged for? Text message charges are pretty unregulated, and he or she did say a text would be sent..."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
I reckon what happened is this -
OP used NoTo0870 to get a landline number from a non-geo. Perhaps the non-geo telecoms supplier supplies many companies, including a premium rate company where an 090 non-geo number also terminates at an 0161 in the same block - one digit different in fact.
So misdialing by 1 digit actually got the OP through to the message meant for people dialing an 090, so the message said about the £3 charge?0 -
Thanks for the replies, I haven't had very good internet access.I reckon what happened is this -

This is correct, I tried to call ticket master from the saynoto0870 site but got one digit wrong. It was the text that I was charged for. I am with T Mobile, they said they cannot do anything about the charge but gave me an 0845 number to contact the company, which is in Bangor. It was an 0845 nimber that got me in this situation in the first place grr.0 -
