Please Help: Broken Hinge

Hello,
I have a HP G7000 notebook and the left hinge has broken. It has become stiff so that the plasticky bit around the keyboard (:o!) is now lifting when I open the lid.
After some googling, I found that it could be that screws are missing but they all seem to be in place.
Does anybody know if there is anything I can do myself? And if not, how much would it cost me roughly to fix?
Many thanks in advance

It isn't the screws that are missing - you'll find that when you take it to bits, the casting the hinge pivot is in has cracked. You need new hinges. Good news is that its a fairly easy job to do.0
