    Update - When the mobile was rescued from the washing machine i removed the battery and left it on a table in the kitchen. As mentioned there was water in the display unit. Due to very small screws i could not take it apart.

    Yesterday when i looked at it all the water had gone. Put the sim card and battery back in and switched it on. Eureka it works. The mobile seems to work okay apart from slight cloudy image on the screen.
    Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D
