thanks again for all those suggestions! Yes, he'll be working flat out from Oct to Dec! I normally try and take time off in Dec so I can do all the household running type stuff.

Another thing that can help is do you trust your host.
ontop of running websites i run a web hosting business and have done for 11 years. i have clients who run ecommerce sites and a couple of them take holidays and as i run my own servers i can access their admin areas etc. they simply pay me a small additional fee when they are on hioliday and i will keep a check on their emails and any orders etc they get and contact any buyers on their behalf0
