sim reader broken on iphone3

I bought an iphone 3 off ebay last week, it was in immaculate condition, I pulled the sim card holder out to put the sim card in, decided I didn't have time, put it back in upside down! it broke inside. I took the front off, got the broken plastic, tried to straighten the sim card reader pins, bought a new holder but it still not reading the card.
Looked all over the internet can't find too much information about repairs, and what I did will cost more than what I paid for it.
Any ideas or know anyone that would do this repair?
