Indesit washing machine

I bought an Indesit IWDE 12 washing machine in April 2009, its one that is built into the cupboard.
Today it failed to spin so took the load out, put it back, changed the program to spin and switched it on. It made a strange grating noise and nothing.
I emptied the machine and tried to spin the drum but it wont move, it is totally stuck. Looking inside the machine the drum has bucked in 4 places and on one of them a hole has ripped through.
Now the machine hasn't been overloaded or any object that shouldn't have been in there, pockets are always checked.
I paid approx £400 for this from B&Q do I have any consumer rights to have this repaired or not?

presumably the original warranty was 12 months?
I would speak to B&Q and see what they have to say about the issue, if you only had a 12month warranty then it will be up to you to prove that the fault was inherent as its over 6 months old. If B&Q arent helpful then you will need to get the inspection report done by an independent specialist (which you will have to pay for) if they then prove the fault to be inherent B&Q will need to fix the fault (or get the manufacturer to do so) and refund you the initial inspection cost.0 -
Ah Indesit. As some say you are "In de s*it"0
