It goes in a cycle like that, you see it in the fox population too, in response to the rabbit numbers going up-more food for the cubs so more survive.
Mostly the rabbits do escape other dogs to get back to their holes but if the dog's very fast, they've had it.
This last weekend I spoke to one of the farmers who told me he'd happily pay for the services of a dog to rid his farm of most of the rabbits as they are just eating all his crops.
Maybe a way for the dog to start paying towards his board and lodgings...:rotfl:0 -
Just to clarify, this is a hare (note enormous ears, longish muzzle) - they're usually at least as big as a large domestic cat or terrier.
and this is a rabbit - smaller ears, rounder head, much smaller.2015 comp wins - £370.25

Thanks for that liz. I really don't know now. It was very big, brown, and fast...could well have been a hare, or someone mentioned jack rabbit?0
