Hi folks

I am helping a good friend in regards of a Barclays PPI reclaim.

I am just double checking on a few things before we send off the complaint, and for anyone who has had direct dealings with this bank, please could you answer my few questions? much appreciated folks, thank you.

Are Barclays Reclaim Questionnaires the same as the ones posted on this site? In other words the same reclaim questionnaire as also on the FOS website?

And does Barclays have their own timescales?
(I understand that many of the banks are given more time, and am aware its going to 12 weeks), so if a complaint is made not say today it will be 16 weeks, then is it at the end of the month 12 weeks? (if so what is the exact date for 12 weeks)?

Cheers folks ;)

I have these details here from the FSA website......

"
PPI complaints received on or after 1 September and before 31 December 2011 will be responded to within 12 weeks."

So its the 1st Sept onwards for reclaims to be investigated by 12 weeks then.

I also understand that if you send Barclays a letter of complaint to reclaim, they have been sending the reclaim questionnaires to complete.
Some banks will accept letters but going by some posts on here Barclays will just accept reclaim questionnaires, please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

    Hi Di
Did you search on the Barclays website, type ppi in the search and there is some info on there.

I went through a claims company ( hangs head in shame)and complained last year, so I am not sure on your questions.

Also I think you can phone them to complain without filling any forms in.

    Hi Di,
They sent out questionnaires and stated that they were FOS questionnaires.
They weren't returned to Barclays for many weeks (due to needing info from Barclays and being unable to get thro to them on the fone, eventually got thro after hanging on for over an HOUR), Barclays sent out letters stating:

I would be grateful if you could send me the information listed below so that I can fully address your concerns:

    FOS Questionnaire

If I do not hear from you I will continue my investigation with the evidence I have.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Yours sincerely

This reclaim was started approx March this year and Barclays have stated that there should be an answer sometime in September.

Hope this is of some help and that you and yours are keeping well.

    Karen xx

Hi Di - its nice that we can offer some help for you for a change!! I have had a couple of dealings with Barclays and on each one, even though I have sent of an FOS claim form, they have sent another back to fill in and yes it is exactly the same as the one on here.

    Hi Di

I contacted Barclays about 2 to 3 months ago and they sent me a form to complete, the same as on here (for DH) they then sent a letter about delays etc. Worryingly they also sent reminder letters saying they hadn't received the forms but I thought if they've got a backlog then I would leave it 2 weeks.

Lo and behold DH had a letter saying they uphold his claim on Saturday.

If you have an account they pay straight into that otherwise they send cheques which could take upto 40 days from the date of the letter.

    HTH a bit :)

Barclays sent me a form to complete and it is exactly the same form. I've had two letters from them, one saying they have my claim and will respond in 16 weeks and another saying they are on schedule to respond to all claims by the dates they had specified and not to call them. I have an account with them, just waiting to see whether they uphold my claim, if they don't I have a letter prepared ready to send to them.
