Yeah I understand the screen... that's why I said leave it alone as it works fine. But I finally just thought screw it I'll pay.

They offered me priority because they messed me about so 6 day turn over.... thought that's good at least.

until.... 6 days later they still have no news for me or provided me with a new quotation.

So I rang and got with some dumb !!! who said

James: I am sorry but I cannot speed this process as we are waiting on a quotation.
me: I'm on Priority... this is a 6 day turn over
me: after 2 months i'd expect better
James: I am sorry but I cannot speed this process as we are waiting on a quotation.
me: Why not is your phone broken? Can you not speak to them?
James: I am sorry but I cannot speed this process as we are waiting on a quotation.

Such a joke and there is nothing I can do.

HTC changed repair centers 6 months ago. They were well and truely screwed 6 months ago. If they still cant repair a phone in 6 days then they really need to sort themselves out - they are releasing new phones every month and cant finx the fautls in those they already have.

I'm looking at Samsung next, HTC clearly are totally incompetent at dealing with customers.
  • Do you have it insured?

The reason I ask is because I managed to stand on my OH's phone when we were moving house. Totally my fault, carrying a box etc and not looking where I was walking.

Anyway, my point is, the screen was completely and utterly dead. Phoned up the insurance company (it's through the current account) and £30 and 2 weeks later it was posted back to us good as new.

I know this is probably not the option you wanted to go down as it's under warranty-but if it truly is a business phone then i'm assuming you will want it back in working order. Maybe go down this route and then launch a complaint with HTC Customer Services?

Have managed to break it again...but that's just the first screen layer- which we got a quote- would cost £50 if we wanted it repaired but there's no loss of functionality on the phone.

OH refuses to let me touch his phone now :rotfl: It's a HTC Desire so I have effectively broken the phone twice which to buy both new would be about £800 :p

    Just an idea anyway :)
