I have long tables and was going to go for the stuff on a roll.... worried now! Is it really that bad??

Ours was not on a roll, but I wasn't impressed. Try and get a sample and see if you are happy with it.

We dropped a few drops of water on it, (sizes of 10p/ 5p piece etc), and then moved cups around the table, and it was riding up where it was wet. For a buffet table I would use it, but we r going for afternoon tea, n it's really not what I was looking for.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but been stressing about this for ages! I need seven or so 90" round tablecloths but they cost a fortune to hire. I know people have suggested making them which i could attempt (the patterns look easy enough and I guess you wont be able to see the bottom really) - but I cant even find fabric wide enough on ebay. Any ideas please?

Also, when looking on ebay have you tried widening your search to ex-rentals or catering/restaurants joblots?

Thats a good idea re widening the search thanks. So far anything under £9/cloth would be good. I cannot believe how expensive a bit of material is!

bedsheets as an idea some charity shops stock them. we brought paper regtagular ivory ones from the co-op and my fIL thought that they were linen
