Can anyone help me please. I have Avira on my PC and is not letting me update my tom tom. It gives me the following message
G:\autorun.inf blocked.
I have looked in the help section and it says that i have to input the name of the safe sites i.e Tom Tom.
But I cannot find where I do this on Avira,
Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

Asssuming you've already installed the TomTom software before.....
Press the windows key + R on your keyboard and then copy & paste this into the run box and click OK:
%programfiles%
When the Program files folder opens, look for the TomTom Home folder (It may be TomTom Home 2)
Go into that folder and double click on TomTomHOME.exe0 -
Hi thanks for this info just tried it and Tom Tom Home is not listed . any further help will be greatly appreciated0

Go to your G: drive (start > my computer), Is there a file named TomTomInstall?
If so, double click that (Or right click > Run as Administrator vista/win7)
That should install the required software on your PC. You can then access the program via a shortcut or all programs (programs vista/win7)0 -
When I switch the TOM TOM on, Avira auto run blocked pops up but Tom Tom Home starts anyway
May be worth downloading Tom Tom Home and re-installing

Thanks again for this info, Tom Tom Home is on the G drive and I have a shortcut on the desk top.
But when I plug the device into the computer Avira steps in and the message G:\autorun.inf blocked pops up. This has only just started to happen as I have used Tom Tom in the past to get updates etc.0 -
If you open Avira, click configuration, click the + for guard, in scan, click action on detection, remove the tick for block autostart function, click apply. If you do not have these options, tick expert mode.
You can reverse this after updating your Tom Tom if you wish.0 -
A huge thank you to waddler_8 and santer Tom Tom Home is working and device has been updated.0

It's actually a good idea to make sure you do re-enable this.
It may be slightly inconvenient, but if you/kids plug in an e.g.flash drive from a different pc that is infected, it will go some way towards blocking any malicious software from auto-running.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Thanks spud17 autostart re -enabled thanks again0
