how do i get AVG Gadget to work on desktop??

After having loads of problems with pc have finally got it back and up and running great. I have now got AVG 2011 installed and the bloke who sorted it had the AVG box on desktop for me showing it was protected with a search button etc. my husband has deleted it and I dont know how to restore it to the desktop I know it must be simple but cant find how to do it

If it's still in the recycle bin then just restore it back to where it came from. Otherwise go to programmes, find avg, right click, send shortcut to desktop. Your AVG will still be working - the actual programme hasn't been deleted.

I have been looking for a shortcut to desktop but I cant see one, AVG is still running yes. It was like a little black box showing protection status with a little search engine in it

Click on progammes, right click AVG, left click 'send to' and then send shortcut to desktop. It's always useful to let us know what operating systm you are using but the method with XP, Vista and W7 is similar

right nearly sussed it, its actually the gadget I am after, I am on windows 7 and have got gadgets up now and right clicked on the avg button but it says cannot find avg services but the avg programme is definitely installed

To display gadgets in Windows Vista, the Windows Sidebar needs to be open. To launch the Windows Sidebar:

1. On the taskbar, click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories.
2. Click Windows Sidebar.

By default, the AVG 2011 gadget is not displayed on your Windows Vista Sidebar after installing AVG.
To add the AVG gadget to your Sidebar:

1. At the top of the Sidebar, click the plus sign (+) to open the Gadget Gallery.
2. Double-click the gadget.

To remove the gadget from the Sidebar:

• Right-click the gadget, and then click Close gadget.

detach the AVG 2011 gadget from the Sidebar You can also and place it anywhere on the desktop. To detach the gadget from the Sidebar, drag it to the desktop. To reattach the gadget, drag it back to any part of the Sidebar.

Hi thanks, I have windows 7 and have done the double clik on the avg 2011 gadget and it brings the box on desktop but says cannot find services

You will have to uninstall and reinstall Avg
