Cancellation Fees

I'm on E.oN's Save Online v4 and am thinking of switching before their imminent price rise. However, there is a £30 cancellation fee if I cancel my contract and switch from Save Online v4 prior to 15th January 2012. Does any one know whether I will have to pay this cancellation charge, bearing in mind the Ofgem ruling that appears to apply when energy suppliers increase their tariffs?

Hi snapperjohn
Customers switching supplier because of our price increase will not be charged a cancellation fee or be affected by the new prices.
To make sure of this, you need to let us know before the 13 September 2011 of your intention to switch. Your new supplier then has 15 working days from this time to contact us to apply for the account.
Hope this helps snapperjohn. Give me a shout if you need any more details as happy to help.

Malc, Does this apply if you switch to another EON product, ie EON SaveOnline 9?
Thanks

Hi Gavin
Going from Saveonline 8 to 9 won't involve a cancellation fee.
You can do this online by logging into your account and selecting the Switch Now option. The change will take effect immediately.
Alternatively, drop an email to the address in my Profile and I'll be happy to do this for you.
