We are wanting to go to Edinburgh before Christmas to see all the Christmas stuff and are wondering which is the best travelodge for a family with young children? Hope someone can help. Thanks

i stayed at the edinburgh central, just round corner from the royal mile and the new museum.0

We stayed at the Haymarket one. A very pleasant lodge with cheap parking. It is about a 10-15 min walk to Princess St, but it was worth it for a peaceful nights sleep.0

There are several Travelodges in Central Edinburgh most of which have only opened in the past year or so.
The best is the one in Waterloo Place which is just off the east end of Princes Street and has easy access to Waverley Station & most of the Edinburgh Christmas Festivities without the need to haul things up and down hills
The Rose Street one might look good but it's in one of the main drinking streets in Edinburgh and is more likely to have stag & hen parties0 -

I stayed in Premier Inn at Haymarket. It was easy to get to city centre or a bus to Leith.Hoping this year is better than the last.0

We've stayed in Edinburgh Central with two young children twice. It was great both times. Pleasant and clean and extremely convenient. Parking is £10 a day, but we found no problem getting a space both times.0

We stayed at the Waterloo Place one in June, it was in a great position, close to buses, trains and main tourist areas and new, so still fresh and bright
No breakfasts though - there is a cafe on the corner but much better value is at BHS where you could get breakfast for 99p

Does it have to be Travelodge? We stayed in the Premier Inn at Lauriston Crescent that was a wee (10-15min) walk from princes street gardens and the castle but it is right at a bustop for the city tours bus which is handy. We took two children (8&5) with us and the staff were lovely, full of advice on the area and great with the kids.
No car park on site but the Riego street car park is just round the corner and not very expensive, plus you get a 15% discount from Permier Inn on the car park charge.0 -
Thanks you I'd not thought of premier inn will take a look. Thanks Kate0
