That's the point. They say that all there jewellery is made in Kirkwall - it clearly isn't...

To quote Hazel from Ortak - "We are based in the Hatston Industrial estate on the outskirts of Kirkwall where we manufacture and despatch our jewellery from."

I'd like to see what trading standards make of that comment.

In fact - just for the sport and after I make a web archive of the site - I'll forward it on to Trading Standards and let them look at it.

I think Ortak may have to amend their website soon...

I was wondering that too Violetta. I couldn't find anything that shows it isn't made in Kirkwall and have personally never heard anything about it being made elsewhere, and I live in Orkney.
But their jewellery is beautiful and excellent quality and well worth it at that price.:)

The only reference I can find to Ortak not being made in the Orkney's but India is this thread & a post by Paolo that has since been on hotukdeals but must have been deleted, as it's only visible in a quoted post. I suspect he is talking rubbish, unless he comes back with further info.
