Right, pay day today and September starts tomorrow and I've just been online and paid my non direct debits (ie CC's) so promises kept and bills up to date - ok so it's the minimums only but this month it's all about getting up to date, making a big dint in the giant mountain of poo can only start in October. The big 30 day adventure starts here. Going to try for 12 NSD's this month - I think the fact that we are living on practically zilch this month should help. On a brighter note I made £12 on ebay tonight, have received a commission for a wedding picture which will earn me £30 and a request for a handmade PE bag will get me £10. This evening is the first time in years where I feel like there is actually light at the end of the tunnel. I really really wish I had been on this site before, the feeling that I'm not the only one trying to get out of a mess is such an encouragement to me. For so long I have felt like I'm the only 40 something in a mess .... numpty that's me.Netz, tackling this one pay day at a time :j:j

Very far from Numpty! Very brave and responsible!
Life gets away from us sometimes and the time and energy to do a SOA and work out what you have is often not available.
Well done. Keep up the NSDs in Sept, I am also trying for 12 (after our holiday!)!Give yourself a Chistmas bonus £14 a week!
Total so far £280 -
I'm all for charity... but £47??? sorry but you realise that's £564 a year? Why not give your time to a charity instead? If the £47 is what you want to give then keep a record of your "missed" payments and when you are out of debt save up and make some generous donations instead
Right now you are paying interest on each donation... it's a beautiful sentiment - but fix the problems first - then help others with theirs
For years I gave my time when I was broke - I did uncountable hours for St John Ambulance as it was something I was good at - now I have found a family in Armenia who I help (with the aid of a local Oxfam worker but every penny I send goes to the family's bank account and so far between me and 2 other donors we have managed to buy them a cow... the difference is that right now I can afford to do this, if I couldn't I'd do fund raising to help them - my time may be free to me but it still counts!)
DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
mrs tine I know what you are saying is right - deep down I know that but even though I've had a LBM and really I have, I would still for my own piece of mind keep this payment going and try to cut down the other stuff first - sky for example. I've already approached the charity this evening and explained that I am looking to cut down the contributions by 50% and they are going to reduce the payment from the next month at my request - I just don't want to stop it altogether. I do give my time aswell doing various things (Im no saint I just like to keep busy - and out the shops xx).
This is little steps I'm taking but hopefully we'll stick to the plan. Just spent all evening filling in the snowball thing onsite and it came up with 43 months of payments to being debt free!!!!!Netz, tackling this one pay day at a time :j:j
