Hi,
I recently opened up a Satander Current account and wanted to apply for another account in my wifes name. My wife is housewife - can she still be able to apply for the account?
Thanks
MS

Thanks - that because of the requirement to pay 1k per month. I'm employed and earn more than 1k so I did not had any problems when I applied. She gets CTC/CB around 500 every 4 weeks. One of the question it asks monthly income and how much will be paid into this account every month. Now monthly income will be less but we can pay in 1k every month. Another 500 will be from me. Will they query where extra 500 is coming from. Thanks0

As long as you pay in £1,000 every anniversary month (not calendar month), and as long as it comes from an external source (ie not from another Santander account if the account was opened after the 4 July), then they don't question where the money is coming from. It doesn't have to be one figure of £1,000, it can be in multiples totalling £1K.0
