Shed office insurance
Borrower
I'm looking for some advice with the following situation.
I have my own limited company, and increasingly work from home.
I've had a timber shed office built in my garden for this purpose. The building itself is property of the company even though it sits within my personal property. Contents probably no more than £5000, shed itself £5000 ("shed" doesn't really do it justice)
I'd like to get contents/buildings cover for the shed, and wondered if anyone had experience of this sort of situation.
I understand getting outbuilding insurance can be tricky at the best of times, and I've got a feeling the business/personal cross over might be troublesome.
Are there any specialists in this area? I've heard Hiscox might be worth a try.
Any advice appreciated.

Yes Hiscox at a price should be able to arrange.
Also try Towergate brokers.
Other standard Home Insurers may be ok, but it depends on the nature of your business, what stock/equipment is held on site. Sometimes if you have a good personal/business banking relationship with a high street bank, you might be able to arrange cover through their Insurance arm. i.e. they are more flexible because of your existing relationship with the bank. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
