                    Hi,
Can anyone help with this one? My son is staring university in September and we are in the midst of sorting out all the usual insurance cover. Does anyone know of an insurer who will pay out a lump sum to cover tutition fees and accommodation costs should he fall ill or have an accident and need to repeat a year?
Many thanks
Suex

Critical Illness cover is about the only thing that will pay a lump sum should he become ill with one of the defined illnesses. Pru Protect also offer Serious Illness cover - this is pretty similar to Critical Illness.
Most Life Offices will cover him, it will most likely also be quite cheap as he is presumably fairly young and it doesnt sound like your after a huge amount of cover.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
