And which era are you in? I can't name a trust within 100 miles in any direction of me that keeps these conditions.

Mitlton Keynes does, on A4C pay scales.

Remember under A4C these apply to those that do cover 24/7 like nurses admin and those that normaly work Mon-fri and no unsocial dont get these enhancements for extra/changed hours.

Likely to be others a quick look around the web

Looks like Southend might as well(this doc 2010 should be behind a login)

Manchester and Nottingam UH claim they also follow A4C pay T&C's .

So the links are possibly wrong

These links were FOI pages on costs that should be kept upto date

If places can/have gone off A4C pay rates with enhancments then nurses would be mad to stay unless paid more.

what are the sacele base rates at these places that don't include shift enhancements.

Nurses may be paid more _ ihaven't dealt with nurses. But admin workers that I know at two of these trusts are not getting these rates. And the OP is an admin worker.

I think it is unreasonable yes, on the basis that you were told last year and now you are leaving it until a couple of months before xmas to complain. Your time will come when you get the entire xmas period off..just be patient. If you kick off now, you certainly won't make any friends within the workforce if others are told they have to come in because you don't feel it is fair.

I am sure there are plenty of nurses who have pulled the short straw of a 12 hour shift over xmas that would quite happily swap for your part time job of a 6.5 hour day.
The opposite of what you know...is also true

I haven't made a complaint and didn't say I was going to I just wanted other opinions so as not to make things harder on myself.

If you are going to have to do it I think you just going to have to think along the lines that it is only a few hours each day in those days (20hrs divided by three) although if you have family it's not nice really.
Out of interest if you don't mind me asking how do you find the job? as I was looking at this job advertised the other day in my local NHS hospital on the NHS website?.

I love it, I still find even now that I'm learning something new most days and I've been there a good while. It's a nice varied role and there's always something to be doing, you won't get bored. I don't anyway. No two days are ever the same but you still get a routine of work that you do everyday if that makes sense. The only thing I don't like and it's nothing to do with the job role is that large groups of people in environments like NHS wards can be backstabbing and terribly !!!!!y with each other. I imagine other jobs get their fair share of that but it can be brutal, you just have to keep out of it.

    Give it a bash :)
