nothing on the screen

I bought this computer, spec below, last Christmas for my son, we moved house this weekend and I was careful with it into the new house, I can't guarantee anything happened from where I left it to him setting it up, now we can't get nothing on the screen, as far as I can make out it did give an error message first time it was started up, when I started it the screen had vertical narrow strips, now it just has a dark screen after showing the asus motherboard logo on start up,
Its still under warranty but will have to be sent back, any ideas what it could be?

Checked the monitor cables are hooked up properly.
Though if you are getting a logo coming up, then connection must be ok with monitor - could be the hard drive inside cable is loose maybe.

Try booting up and press F8 straight away ( a few times) and try to see if you get boot up into safe mode.
Or try F2, F12 - to see boot up menu.

F1 to get into bios usually - and see if the hard drive is being detected.

Yes, if it is going through the startup screen but not loading further, my initial suspicions would be the hard disc and if you have just moved, there is the chance of something happening in transit.

    WINDOWS/system 32/ DRIVERS AVGIIDSEH.sys

and seemed to stall after 15 minutes saying please wait, not sure if we gave it enough time, what do you think?

sounds like you need to re-seat the hdd cables inside the case - disconnect then re-connect each end in turn, then try again :)
