Memorable hen night

Last night was my hen night. The night ended up in the police station, liberating my MOH from the cells. It wasn't supposed to. We were heading for the train station to get back home, and my sister had gone on ahead and got on the train already.
Four of my fellow hens got chatting to a middle aged guy on the approach to the station, and I was further back with another of my hens. The guy that they were talking to took offence at something they said and started repeatedly punching my friend in the face. The police showed up and arrested not the guy who was doing the punching, but another of my hens who was just trying to pull him off her.
They had my friend checked out by a paramedic but refused to take a statement or take any photos of the damage to her face (split lip, burst nose, black eye). They took my other friend to the police station where they made her remove her shoes and dress and put her in a cell. She had no legal representation but they claim they've charged her on 2 counts of assault. They let her out without bail so I'm not sure if they have charged her or not.
my sister and her husband came back into town to get us and take the friend who got attacked to the hospital.

Blooming heck Codemonkey! So sorry your night ended this way.
Have you taken photos yourself of the split lip etc. Once everyone has calmed down, maybe tomorrow, I'd go back to the police station and ask to make a statement of what happened.
She will have a crime ref number, you could even phone now and ask for that. Make sure your statement given is recorded against that crime ref number.
Are there any cctv cameras about the place?
Do you know why they made her remove the shoes and dress (i'm employed by a police force, don't like to say which) and the shoes I can understand if they are healed and can be used as a weapon or to cause injury to herself, but I'm struggling with the removing of a dress?
Not the memories you were expecting, I bet.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
Ah bless you. Sounds like a nightmare!! What sort of man would do that!!!
My hen was last night and certainly not what I was expecting - only 8 out of 20 people turned up which annoyed me as I had already paid for their food (they were supposed to reinburse me when they came!)
My best friend was drunk before I turned up so I spent 3 hours listening to complete rubbish before she had to be sent home.
Some bloke stole my fairy wings (but MIL to be went on a mission and get them back lol), Loads of our drinks went our missing and people popped our hen balloons.
And one of my olds friends who I'd not seen in 3 years decided she wanted to go and see her new fella who lived an hour away!
Decided I am never again organising a night out EVER! But at least I didn't have to contend police & hospitals. Are you upset that it didn't go quite as planned?0 -
OMG...I'm sorry but my first thought was that this just had to happen to you of all people, closely followed by 'must read when she updates blog'...sorry!
If thsi happened near a station there's bound to be CCTV in the area. You could make a formal complaint at another station, if you don't feel you can trust going to this one. Did anybody else get any pictures of your friend? I know it's not always the most pleasant thing to be accosted by a group of drunken women but even if they did say something to upset him there's no excuse for that sort of violence...and even if he were to claim provocation there's a difference between a heat of the moment slap and what you said he did with repeated punching to cause that much damage.
Hope that a) your friend recovers OK and b) you can get some kind of action taken to sort this mess out0 -
Holy carp! I laughed at the first line or so, thinking what a cracking night you must have had. Then I read the rest and realised it wasn't funny at all! Your poor friend. I can't offer any more advice at all and can only hope everything works out and she is ok.
If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.0 -
So sorry it ended that way, I really hope you get somewhere with it - can't believe they didn't take photos of the injuries!0

Thanks 74jax. I'll pass that info on to her. My brother-in-law took some photos of the injuries and they also took her to A&E so there will be a record.
Not sure about the dress either. It was just a normal dress.
I didn't see any of it, as I get a different train (later) so I stayed in the pub for one more drink then phoned them to see that they were all ok and got my panicked friend saying that one had been assaulted and the other had been arrested so I headed down there straight away.
Honestly, I'm not sure they were interested. Their reaction seemed to be "she was drinking so she deserved it" . It's shocking but its pretty much the reaction I also got when I was assaulted a couple of years ago. They said that they'd asked her for a statement and she declined (lie!), that she was in no fit state to make a statement (lie!) and that they'd reviewed the CCTV and there was no evidence that the guy hit her (so errm she hit herself in the face repeatedly then?).Eu não sou uma tartaruga. I also thought, wow she must have have a wild night then reached line 2... _pale_
If it's right that the worse the hen night the better the wedding then your wedding must be cracking. Hope the police actually do something to the thug.when the first cup of coffee tastes like washing up she knows she's losing it
