Advice needed, new Talk Talk contract?

Hi, I have been with Pipex for some time now who have been taken over by Talk Talk. I called the other day to get log in details for my account to view bill etc.
Man on phone offered me a new deal which sounded good but now Im not so sure and need to cancel within 14 days if necessary so need advice from you wise people whether to keep it or not?

Old deal was 20.00 p/m for line rental, all calls, broadband. Final bill is usually about 29.00 to 33.00 due to calls to mobiles/0845 etc etc. (mostly quick calls to mobiles).

New deal is 25.00 p/m for same as above but with faster broadband and 500 mins to mobiles. This is for 6 months then goes up to 32.00 for last 3 months with option to reduce this by 5.00 (500 mins to mobiles) if we want to.

This deal is tied in for 12 months.

What do you all think? If its a crap deal, then do you know any other good ones that arent a real pain to set up. Also good understandable cust service would be a bonus!

many thanks :)

i've been on o2 broadband since it started, the homephone has a basic line rental of about £8 a month and the bb is as easy as:
    1.put disc into computer
    2. leave it alone until asked to click box,
    3.click box when asked
    4. repeat steps 2 and 3 till it says its done

if you can read, click a mouse, and work electricity then you can install it

I'm with Plusnet, after moving to an area which led talktalk to decide they wanted to put my bill up by £15 p/m...I pay a little more than I initially did with talktalk but their customer services is so good I don't begrudge the extra £2 a month

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time

I had the same thing happen with me when F2s was taken over...still undecided what to do as TT are total pants so far...just to let you know, even when it's disconnected as mine is now you can still access webmail from their awful homepage, just can't send it.

I'm thinking Sky and Virgin look favourite for me, when the line rental is added which is something few of them mention. No way I'd get tied into a long term deal though...year max, and only with really good extras ;)

o2 will let you have a 1 month minimum term if you pay a bit extra, i looked into changing my package as my deal is years old but decided there was no point for what i gained
