Can anyone help me with travel insurance?

Hey everyone. I'm trying to get our travel insurance sorted for our USA trip in November but I really don't understand what it is I'm looking at. I've looked at the travel insurance section on the MSE website and then went to the moneysupermarket website that it suggested. I typed in our details (flying on the 16th Nov - 2nd Dec ) but I don't really understand which one is best! Can anyone please help me with this because we booked our holiday months ago and I'm getting worried that something will happen before we go and I wont have insurance so I want to buy it today.

Does travel insurance cover 'Acts of God' as well does anyone know? My friend is due to fly to LA with a stopover in Newark on Thursday and she's getting a bit worried.

Can't help you a great deal as I'm no expert but I did find that the cheap Virgin Travel insurance on the MSE link (through moneysupermarket) excluded the 'catastrophe' section of insurance however if you rang Virgin travel (or possibly booked direct online) then 'catastrophe' was included.

If you're unsure the best bet is to ring round a few and specifically ask them if the risks you're worried about are covered, as frankly I too find it clear as mud!
