Camera SD card losing photos

Yesterday I took a lot of photos and today when I went to look through them about 10 said "file error" and they don't appear when I try to put them on the computer. I am formatting the card right now but should I get a new one?
I have a transcend 16gb class 10 and it only cost me about £16 so it was a cheap one.

Fake chinese SD card, buy another product from a genuine retailer in personHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Amazon have them for £15 at the moment

If you are able to return it, do that, however, before that, is there anything in the camera manual about getting a file error0 -
£16 for 16GB Class 10 - that sounds too cheap to be kosher.
My hunch is that it is a much smaller card with a tweaked firmware to make it report as 16GB0 -
Use Sandisk or Lexar (you can get them cheap from Warehouse Express or 7DayShop), and you shouldn't have any problems. After downloading images, always format instead of deleting to get rid of the images (don't know why, but a couple of pro togs gave me this advice).0

Thanks for replies I did think it was too cheap when I bought it. Think it's probably too late to send it back. If it happens again I'll buy a sandisk0

You should buy the Sandisk card now, before it happens again - that way you won't lose any photos.0

Yup - Get a decent make of card.0
