Our smallest bedroom gets mould, it has 2 outside walls. We painted the wall with anti mould paint then hung lining paper and painted it with kitchen and bathroom paint, so far (over 12 months) the mould has not reappeared. I did notice that B&Q now sell anti-mould emulsion, will be trying that in the bathroom. I agree that having the windows open, keeping the bathroom door closed when bathing/showering to contain the steam but having the window open all help. We invested in a dehumidifier and had another one given and we do use them during the winter.

Forgot to say, we keep everything away from the outside wall, in the winter months.

Polycell mould remeover (buy it from wilkinsons not tesco) is the only thing I have ever found which combats mould properly; but I have to keep doing it every few months. HOWEVEr the one room in our house with no mould whatsoever is the front bedroom...
our bedroom when we first moved in here was disgusting. the wallpaper was basically being held on the wall with it. we removed the wallpaper, treated the wall, sealed with a bathroom/kitchen paint with an added fungicide.

One tip that helps is not putting furniture like wardrobes and chests of drawers against outside walls. Air can't circulate then and this contributes to mould build up.
Top tip. I solved most of my problems by moving the wardrobe.
