Hiya,
I'm gonna throw this through the window in minute.....
I bought this specifically for the wireless. followed instructions to the letter, but it seems the laptop can't see the printer.
All settings seem ok, the wireless light is on (on the printer) and it detects the network and is connected, but when I try to print, nothing happens!!!
I've googled around a bit. I carried out a ping test, but the ping thingy can't find the printer.
I'm totally stuck now.
Help appreciated.
Thanks guys...;)

hi the chippy
I had exactly the same problem as you and the answer is to update the drivers via the epson website.
santer pointed me in the right direction.
here is the link
http://www.epson.co.uk/Store/Printers-and-All-in-Ones/Epson-Stylus-SX425W/Drivers-Support?supportLandingPage=true#
put in what system you are using i.e.windows 7 64bit download and install.
it worked for me.

I used these drivers Epson network software & driver package0 -

Thanks mate,
Tried that and same problem still.
TBH, I'm pretty !!!!ed off with Epson, it should simply not be this difficult.
I'm quite pc savvy and still can't sort this!!
You should just put in the setup cd, run it and happy days...
This gets to the same point each time and says something like, printer connecting failed. "try resetting your subnet mask".....
What 'kin use is that?
!!!!!! at least try to explain how to do that at the least! The help sections always seem to assume you're some kind of computer wizzo and you know exactly what they mean and how to do it!!
My neighbour bought a wireless hp the other day, knows !!!!!! all about computers, stuck in the setup cd and she's now using it wirelessly no prob...
Take note Epson, as I know I'm not the only person who's had these issues and quite frankly, it's pathetic - sort it out..........:mad:Happiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:0 -
all i can suggest is talking to the epson guys on their webchat line {as per santer}. I spoke to them yesterday and they were quite helpful,or biting the bullet and talking to them on the phone although that costs!0

Many thanks for all your help guys.
I decided to phone them.
The guy was brilliant.
I had actually done everything correctly, correct drivers etc.
In case anyone else has this issue, this was the problem.
Many routers are defaulted to channel 1, but it appears that some wireless devices prefer a channel from 6 to 11.
I went online and checked mine and found it was on channel 1. Changed it to channel 6, saved the changes and the printer worked wirelessly straight away........:D
So, the problem all along was simply the router channel which turned out to be a 1 minute fix...
Edit.
Well done Epson after all.
Your tech guy was great and it's a bank holiday!. I didn't expect the lines to be open...Happiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:0 -
