re-tuning with freeview

I understand that I need to re-tune my freeview TV by 31st August but have a slight problem :o
The OK button on my remote control is not working and although I can navigate through the screens to AUTO UPDATE I cannot press OK to start the process. There isnt a button on the TV either that lets me OK it .
Probably wont be able to get a new remote before 31st August so just wondered that I would be able to scan and update channels after this date ?
Thanks :money:

It won't be a problem, I guess you are on the Waltham transmitter.

Do you know anyone with a TV from the same manufacturer, maybe borrow their remote.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

On some TVs the up/down channel and volume buttons act like the up/down/left/right buttons on a pc, they might just help....

You could try to repair it - inside is a rubber mat and there's a conductive coating that wears away from where it touches the circuit board - but an easier solution might be this, if you've got a Lidl nearby:

Have used the buttons on the TV which get me to the right page but there isnt one for "OK" to start the auto scan.

Thanks , have took it apart and cant se anything wrong with the coating or rubber mat lining up correctly. Will definately pop down to Lidl to pick one up for £5-99.My TV is a digitrex and I sourced a remote for about £12 plus P&P.Just didnt like the idea of shelling out £15 for something just to replace my OK button
    Cheers

    Check the manual!
Sometimes they have the channel +/- for moving up down menus and Volume + for ok and Volume - for cancel.
So start pressing buttons (other than the power button!) lol and see what happens.
