What should I wear for a night out?

I agree with smart, dark colour jeans (a pair with straight leg, not baggy fit) a pair of heels and a funky, trendy top. You can get lots of wear out of a good pair of jeans either dressing them up or down and wearing with different tops for different nights out. Hope you have a great time!0

Oh and if it's a chilly night do you have a plain black suit jacket or blazer? You could pop that over the top til
You get to the venue/club.0 -
Showing my age now, but can you get into night clubs now with jeans on? At one time you couldn't, lol!"Sealed Pot challenge" member No. 138

Thanks for the replies everyone, I seem to have been living on the web the last few days - I had to go and google palazzo pants
and it went from there. I still haven't found anything 'me'. I am however, still looking, LOL.
I live in jeans so thought I'd go for something different and am looking for a glitzy top as well. My quest continues.....0 -

Wear a dress, and heels, look your best, and you'll feel good too. I wear what I want when I want, although tend to tone down stuff for daytime.
Have a good time, and don't worry about anything else.0 -

I absolutely love the write up for this top. I don't think I would be attracting looks from the side if I wore it - Whatever that means.0 -
Have a look in Wallis as they have some nice dresses for women of our age group. Try the sale in M&S for a pair of heels too. Enjoy!0

I am not a heels girl unfortunately, I forgot to put that above, I have a problem with my ankle since I fractured it many years ago and it gives easily if I wear heels, and then fractures again, so I have to wear flats or heels with large flat bottoms (like on some boots). I am going to get some cheap throwaway pumps though. I have small feet - smaller than usual ladies size - so have to wear kids shoes. Not making this easy am I?
I've won a couple of tops on ebay so will get them and see how they fit and then go from there. The problem I have is getting something that fits my frame. I've got a tiny waist but huge boobs so I have to get tops and dresses that hang in the right way else I might as well be wearing maternity clothes. Likewise in getting the right bra to wear with tops too because of my frame.
I've not really worn a shirt with a belt before but that seems to be an option and would make my waist looks smaller. I am going to take a trip into town when the kids go back to school. The nearest Wallis is a good hour journey from me but I have seen some nice ones on eBay.
I was trying to find out what people wore when they went out these days - I learned about the palazzo pants and they are nice, because I did not want to go out all 'clubby' and look like mutton dressed as lamb. I don't feel my age but I have to be realistic!!
I'd love to wear one of those beautiful Burlesque bustiers but as I say, mutton dressed as lamb!!0
