all I've done is relist stuff that didn't sell last time on ebay. Haven't even put up new listings yet.

I had to cancel 3 MS jobs yesterday as I was so ill :( have booked another one for next week. Hopefully will get more work before end of month.

Just that I was thinking we might as well get a few more boxes, as we actually gave some away to family today so I'd like to replenish my stock!! :o

  • Found some loose change whilst clearing out the load of stuff I didn't car boot this morning as it was raining cats and dogs! Haven't counted it yet, will do in the morning. Have relisted 4 things and taken loads of pictures tonight to put on 99p listings. I'm on a course from tomorrow until Wed so will be making use of my evenings and the hotel wifi to list as many things as I can! Also dug out a few old uni textbooks I might have a go at trading in too. Good news is the hotel I am staying at is closer to work, so my boyfriend is coming to stay too to cut down his commute and fuel! We also picked 750g of blackberries and apples from the tree. Today I made Apple and Blackberry conserve (2 jars), Spiced Apple Chutney (8 jars) and also some raspberry muffins. Most of the chutneys I will save and put with some nice savory crackers and give to family as Christmas presents, so thats another saving! :)

some Ts have already started putting the price up due to coupon abuse. Not all, but some.

Oh dear - I had a quick scan of the thread but didn't see that discussion. Will walk up there tomorrow then rather than waiting till Tuesday when I'd be passing anyway!! :D
I'm sure my local Tesco Express sell them so possibly they are less likely to have suffered the 'abuse'!!
The silly thing is that Tesco don't lose out at all as they can claim that money back from the manufacturers anyway, and actually people will usually pick up something else at the same time. I got a bag of apples with the first 6 boxes I got, some washing up liquid with the second lot, and some mayo with the third lot, because I didn't want to get to the till and have absolutely nothing to pay in case they got funny. These were all bits I needed, but only went into Tesco to get the cereal, so would have probably ended up getting these bits in Asda instead as it's nearer so where I tend to go when just popping in for a couple of bits. So actually Tesco got money out of me that they wouldn't have done otherwise.
The offer is online etc, and with a company with as many shops as Tesco, it must be difficult for some stores to change their prices and not others, surely. :(

tesco express and tesco metro are franchised stores. So although they have same promotions as the main T, they don't always advertise them. Mine didn't advertise that Fairy Premium was bogof - I found out through the printable coupon thread. So when it was only a £1 was buying two.

but I have noticed their prices on some products are higher than normal Ts. I suppose this is their mark up to make a profit.

but store managers can go around manually changing prices.

and online offers are not necessarily representative of stores. I know as we have had some cracking bargains through tesco.com that you couldn't get instore and vice versa.

Aesop - you really are a fountain of knowledge aren't you!!

There is a Tesco Extra and 3 Metros all within walking distance of where I live, plus a scattering of Express stores along the way, so fingers crossed I can stash a few more boxes tomorrow!!
I wouldn't call it 'abuse' of coupons as there is no limit on the number you can print so those of us who are printing them multiple times are doing so legitimately, and we aren't trying to use them against anything other than the product they are meant for. But hey-ho, we shall see!! It's only a couple of weeks ago we ran out of cereal that we had stocked up on during the Double The Difference era, so this was pretty good timing :D Even if I don't get anymore, I still ended up with 10 boxes after giving some away so that will keep up going for a few more weeks.

wondering if I should be studying economics instead :rotfl:

the word "abuse" is subjective. Ts have every right to refuse coupons - it does say manager discretion.

I think the purpose of this coupon was to get you to test the product once by offering it on promotion with the coupon, if you liked it, you would buy more of it. Buy being the operative word, therefore making money for the manufacturer.

unfortunately the manufacturer does not read mse, otherwise they would know not to make pdf coupons.... :rotfl:
  • Well done to sweetpeas :) !

    Haven't managed anything on ebay..shamed to say....gonna get a quick listing on now...better than nothing :) x
