Imagine that!! Emails are so often recommended as the method by which to communicate too.

I get the feeling Apples2 you are just on this site to poke fun and discredit everyone who has been ripped off!
You quote terms and conditions, perhaps you should read the bit about where they charge £79.99 and take it from your bank account within 4 days for a premium service, also the bit about where they give your bank details to other companies - oh you cant find those bits????? Wonder why!!!
Like I said before, their Ts and Cs say they DO NOT CHARGE for payday loans, which is what I ended up with and didnt want and their Ts and Cs also state you get your £79.99 back if you cancel within 14 days. Well that was on the 9th October and still have not had my money back.

You must work for one of these dodgy companies as you quote statements that are relevant to them, but the ones that are supposed to be there to protect the consumer, you seem to be oblivious to.

How did you request your refund lea?

What do you mean you ended up with a payday loan you didn't want?

You appear to have read the bits you wanted to hear and ignored the rest.

The refund was requested via telephone, email and letter. I was told I would get this within 28 days. The phone call was 9th October as was the email. Since then, I have sent numerous emails and was given numerous excuses, backlog for refunds, its with the management, its with the refund department blah blah blah.

I was told by this company they had found me the loan I requested over 18 months repayment. Went through all the whys and wherefores and everything was sorted. I then had £300 put into my bank which I found out 4 days later, which is when they took £79.99 from my bank. I contacted the company and asked what the £300 was and why I had £79.99 taken out of my bank. I was told by the person on the phone that they hadnt found the loan I wanted afterall and a payday loan was what they had got for me. I told them I didnt want a payday loan as it was not what I requested. I was then told they could get me a log book loan over 12 months but would end up paying £1500 in interest alone. I told them I didnt want it and to cancel it and give me my £79.99 back.

Please do tell me what I have ignored?? I read all the Ts and Cs and funnily enough it does not mentioned that £79.99 will be taken from my bank within 4 days, nor does it mention that my bank details will be passed to a third party who will set up a direct debit, nor does it mentioned that even though you get an email saying your money will be refunded it wont. Please feel free to read section 3 on payments and section 6 on refunds - which are the 2 sections that refer to my problem and tell me which bit I am ignoring!!

In this event we will refund your fee within 30 days of the date on which we receive your written request to cancel your application.

Please do tell me where it states a value of £79.99?? I am aware it states brokerage fee, but the value is for some reason 'missing'. This is the official copy of the terms and conditions sent to me on 5th October 2012. I find section 6.1.2 amusing as it would appear that SGE are commiting the fraud by accessing bank accounts, removing monies and passing on bank account details to third parties!!

So Apples2, I am still waiting to be told what I have missed or misread!!!

You've requested your refund but you haven't received it correct?

Now send a formal Complaint to them including your original request (staple it to the back). They have 8 weeks to respond after which you take it to the FOS.

http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm

Include your original request and your formal complaint letter with the letter to the FOS.

Seriously, wake up! you are swimming with sharks getting embroiled in Broker Fees. You are NOT dealing with maintstream lenders with any kind of reputation to defend. They absolutely prey on people being too eagre to grab cash to think twice about what they are signing up to.

They aren't there to hold your hand, nor are we. You are an adult, start reading things first before believing any old tripe "nice" people tell you down a phone.

No I havent received a refund. Nor do I expect to, especially from the lies they have told since, who they are run by and people backing them up.

And please dont patronise me!!! I was not told of broker fees until after I got the email and that was only because I got the terms and conditions via email. I dont have access to the internet 24/7 - had I known this I wouldnt have agreed in the first place. I am not stupid! I did not look these people up, I applied for credit via the net and these people contact me called themselves SGE!! As I was at work at the time I had no internet access. They told me they had the loan I wanted, payable over 18 months, loads of waffle about other stuff, switching utilities - which I said I wasnt interested in, they switched it anyway to a company called First Utility even though I said no! They have been reported to the FOS and my bank! I have cancelled my card and got different bank account.

So before you start backing these people, we are not all some brain dead idiot who jumps at the chance of easy money, far from it. As soon as I had the chance to look them up, I did, that is when I found out how dodgy they were/are.
Their terms and conditions mean nothing as they do not stick to them and they should be shut down. They are obviously very convincing as they have scammed nearly everyone!!
I was not verbally told about broker fees, I only found out via email, because if I had known I would not have taken anything with this bunch of sharks!!!!!

If all your answers are going to contain patronising answers, please do not answer again, as it makes you as bad as them by backing them up. I dont need anyone to hold my hand, if they stuck to the word in the first place it wouldnt be an issue.

You will receive a refund whether its from SGE themselves or if the FOS get involved and push through a refund but you will get 1.

You let yourself be robbed of £80 by giving your bank account details to SGE.

If you want a loan go to a high street bank or a knwn lender eg 1 of the supermarkets.

You applied via "the net"?? It's a big place.
You received a phonecall out of the blue and gave up all your most sensitive information.... to a stranger without knowing who it was.

It is a moot point what the T&C's say if you had already agreed to them without even looking at them.
the T&C's are freely available to anyone, without applying for anything

This is going to happen to you again if you don't start checking who you are doing business with before giving them access to your account(s).

Rant away lea, you CAN get a refund if you follow the correct procedure. I hope you have learned a valuable lesson on how to research and apply for credit to save this happening to you again.
• It is now in the hands of the FOS, had a reply from them and they are investigating the whole thing. Probably why they are ignoring my correspondence.
• I used to work for this company and left because of the immoral things they do.

You can do business with them if you wish but here are a few VERY important things to note:

1. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD OR BANK DETAILS. The ONLY reason they need those is to take payment of their "Service Charge" for which you pay between £10-£80 quid and get in return... an email... thrilling huh? !!!THEY DO NOT USE THIS INFORMATION FOR ANY KIND OF CHECK!!!

2. They do not match you to the best loan available for you, they match you to the best loan you MIGHT be able to get that will earn them the most commission!

3. They will try and sell you credit cards with very high interest rates and also will try and switch your gas and electric... DO NOT DO THIS... they currently can't sell any gas or electric products other than "Spark Energy"... but they WILL try switch you to it even if it costs you more. You only need to look at the results page of their energy switching company to see this is true.

4. Both of the Directors of the company, Sally Hill and Stuart Hicks, are the main pushers of ALL the other staff, sales agents, customer services etc. They tell them EXACTLY what to say and how to handle all your "Objections"... they call it "Objection Handling"

It's your choice to use them but my advice is to steer well clear.
