Years ago I was on AOL and they had a clock which you clicked which would tell you how long you had been online. I am using Vista Home Premium and BT can I find out how long I have spent online?

You need to look for an add-on for your browser that will show you this.
For example with Firefox you can install the Browser Uptime add-on, and that will tell you how long the current window has been open and also the total duration of the browser session.
There are other add-ons such as countdown timers - useful if you need a reminder after a fixed period of time to take action to reduce RSI.0 -
