Please help - been stupid and taken payday loans

Options
I owe Wonga, Wage Day Advance, Lending Stream, Cash Genie & Payday UK.
The payment was due yesterday but the easy cash account i held with halifax has been closed at my request.
I have set up a new account with halifax - can this be accessed by these companies?!
I have contacted the companies already to explain i cannot afford to pay, its like every month I was borrowing to pay the previous month, Wonga has got ridiculous at like almost a grand
Please advise, I had thought of suicide.

  • Hi there, please don't do anything rash. A lot of us have been in the same situation. I can only advise you of how I dealt with things. I went to see the Citizens Advice and they were fantastic. They negotiated with my creditors and managed to sort out an affordable payment plan. I gave them all the 'harassing' letters I received, and the CAB dealt with them, It was a weight off my shoulders. There is always a solution, and suicide isn't it. Keep your chin up and deal with the problem head on, speak to the CAB, they're advice and help is free. Take care.

CAB are great if you can manage to find an office not already buried with single parent mayhem, alternatively, ring the CCCS and let them do the work for you (for free)

Don't stress, just roll with the punches and get those more used to it to deal with it for you.... and stop applying for loans
  • I cant give you any advise more than what the other two have given but just wanted to say keep your chin up, it may seem like the end of the world at the moment but you will get out of this. Keep strong x

If you blow your head off with a shotgun, the proceed of your "estate" will go to the PDL companies.....this means your 2nd hand iphone, tv and other shizzle you bought with the payday loans.

Far better to man up, face your situation and get it dealt with.

Up to this point I have always found your posts informative, but is this neccessary?

OP - It is only money and not worth a life. Contact the CAB asap and the best of luck!

    !

Maybe you're right, it wasn't supposed to be offensive. My point was that CAB offer a diverse service covering a multitude of problems. Their service is in heavy demand so just getting in the door can be an achievement.
As the service the CAB offer is so diverse, they aren't an expert in financial management.

The CCCs however, are experts in dealing with debt problems, that is all they do, all day, every day.

Leave the CAB to sort out problems people face who cannot afford the legal advice, and use the CCCS to help deal with debt problems.

My example was to leave CAB to sort out the single parent with no roof and children in tow (i.e more deserving cases than someone who has been stupid with PDL's).

Why is it that thinking about suicide seems to be the get out of jail free card for all of life's problems. Who cares what you thoughht about, you thought about suicide and didn't think that it would be a good idea, it doesn't mean you don't have to pay your debts. Now think about getting a job or borrowing money from a relative who you can skank when it comes time to repay just like you did with the payday loan companies.
What a lovely fella who wrote this.. It's interesting how obnoxious people can get, safe behind the anonymity of their computer screens!

Anyway, OP have you been over to the DebtFree Wannabe board? You can post your SOA up there, most of the people there are friendly and happy to give advice.

Is that the standard of written English required for journalism nowadays?

And I thought that was quite a high standard of English - for a journalist. So many articles have spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors within them these days.
