Disposing of working computer monitor

I have tried Freecycle a few times and no takers.
Any other suggestions? Will the local authority waste centre take this? I'd like it to be used if possible?

How big is the monitor?
To be honest CRTs are getting less and less useful, especially small ones. I'm not surprised no one wants it.0 -
Your local refuse/recycling tip will take it but it will almost certainly just go into landfill as it's not worth recycling.0

Have you tried you local schools/youth club/scout group?0

Depending on where you are you may find someone that can make use of it, for example Komputers4Kids (I think that this is the email address: mail@komputers4kids.co.uk)0

There are other freecycle like sites such as
http://www.efreeko.co.uk/
and there are lots of others on other treads. You can always try them too.

Scout groups are ALWAYS looking for better computers. The monitor would probably be worth donating to them if you can contact them.If I had words to make a day for you,
I'd sing you a morning golden and new.
I would make this day last for all time,
Give you a night deep with moonshine.0 -
If it's 17"+ you'll definately find someone to take it off your hands if its working fine.
Anything smaller and you may struggle (but I don't know).0 -
Is it internet ready?
Otherwise I think you'll have problems - unless it goes for spares.
I know a few IT buffs who maintain old internet ready PCs for internet use only. All their other work is carried out on a PC not connected to the internet.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -
If you have a local computer shop (not a big chain jobby) ask them if they know of any local groups that will take them - our local shop takes them in and passes them on to local community groups/schools etc.0
