Curious Anomoly!

Hi, I just received a rejection relating to a mis-sold PPI claim from Argos Card Services. The curious thing is that the letter is dated 23rd August, but yet the envelope it was posted in had its postage frank dated the 21st August.
This means either the letter was printed and posted before it was written (:rotfl:), or that the letter was in fact post dated sometime before it was actually posted.
I am following on my PPI claim with the Ombudsman and was wondering if people think I should raise this issue along with the complaint to the Ombudsman, or raise a new complaint with Argos card Services.
I know it doesnt sound overly important, but if these people are falsifying dates, then surely that is a matter which needs investigated? And if these people are falsifying dates on letters, how do we know they are not doing it on other things??

I'm not really sure how this is relevent to your original complaint or how the FOS can deal with this, its obviously a typo. A letter from Argos confirming the correct date of the letter can put this issue right.
I really doubt there is anything sinister in this.0 -
Im not so sure, considering their letter promised a response by 24th August and this letter was incorrectly dated 23rd August. Seems a bit of a coincidence no? If this letter was indeed post dated, how do I know it wasnt prepared weeks ago, and being used as a further delaying tactic? It may have nothing to do with my original claim, but I do think it has the potential to have something sinister in it. Anyway, I was just curious. Think i will do as you suggest and request the correct date of the letter from them.I'm not really sure how this is relevent to your original complaint or how the FOS can deal with this, its obviously a typo. By all means get the correct date. I just see no benefit of them forward dating the letter, back dating yes.0
