fridge collecting water

So our fridge keeps collecting water at the botton and it gets into the freezer which then frosts up.

What can I do?

Right at the back of the fridge..on the inside back wall, is a drain hole ..this is blocked ..

The drain hole leads into a little pipe that deposits the water into a tray on top of the motor ..it then evapoartes

you need to put a piece strimmer plastic wire or similar or something smaller down that hole and pipe to unblock it ..

you then, every few weeks, put a teaspoon of diluted bleach down the hole ..this will stop the mold growing and blocking it in the future.

yeah I noticed that it looked a bit horrible in the hole plus there is ice in each corner of the bottom of the fridge.
  • if there is ice in there ..the temp too low .....should be 2 degrees or there abouts

or your rubber seals need cleaning..in the convulations

If you pour water in it ..and it flows away ..its clear

The real answer is to pull out and turn the fridge freezer around and observe the water coming out of the tube and entering the tray above the motor ,

without turning it around ..if you were to keep pouring water in the hole..it would overfill the tray ..and you would see it on the floor making its way towards the front.

how about this ..if its really bad you may still need a strimmer wire though

get a fridge thermometer ..they are sold at many frozen food stores ..like iceland...you can then observe the temperature and set your dial to suit
