Where to buy solid surface worktop?

We have just bought a new house and the kitchen needs to be completely replaced - we want something contemporary so are considering solid surface worktops. I am going to fit the kitchen myself but don't want to take on the job of preparing and joining the worktop and so on.

Can anyone recommend a supplier (in Midlands or online) who can both supply, cut to length, cut holes for hob and sink and do the joints for a reasonable price? We need around 10m in total to include a breakfast bar and utility with the longest individual piece approx 4m.

Failing that, is a good quality square edge laminate a viable alternative to solid surface purely from a looks perspective - the laminate we have on our current kitchen looks cheap and nasty which we want to avoid but, like anything, I assume there are many varying qualities in laminate?

Many thanks

Jason
